Stephen Street
The album was recorded at Olympic Studios and was produced by Stephen Street of Smiths, Babyshambles, The Zutons, Kaiser Chiefs and Blur fame.
“He approached our label because he wanted to produce our album. We were already pretty nervous about making the record, but it just made it worse. We had to put all these ideas to him.”
What was Stephen like to work with?
“He was really nice actually. He’s a top chap. I was a bit nervous when I went in, because I thought my songs might be taken away from me and messed about with, but that wasn’t the case at all. He was very understanding and really cared. The guy’s brilliant at his job. To be honest, a good producer is 20% producing skills and 80% people skills – you’ve got to be able to manage the band and make them feel good and productive.”
