The Courteeners have announced another national wide tour to promote their new album St Jude, due for release on April 7th.

The tour will kick off in Nottingham on April 9th and ends at Londons Astoria on April 26th.

Courteeners to play T in the Park

The Courteeners have been confirmed as one of the acts for T in the Park 2008.

The festival takes place in Balado, Scotland on Friday 11th to Sunday 13th July, with the The Verve, Rage Against The Machine and R.E.M. being confirmed as headliners.

Other big names to be annouced are Stereophonics, KT Tunstall, Feeder, The Wombats, The Fratellis, The Kooks, Kaiser Chiefs, Kings of Leon, The Prodigy, and Primal Scream.

An impressive line up, but with The Courteeners debut album due out in April maybe they can steal the show.

Free Courteeners after party in Swansea

The Ice Cream Social are throwing a free after party for all Courteeners Swansea gig goers on Saturday February 2nd.

Resident DJs Chairman Wow!, TwoHeadedBoy and LGE qill play a diverse mix of indie, electronic and alternative music.

Courteeners Rock City Review

The Courteeners played Nottinghams Rock City this week, and the local rags seem impressed by Manchester’s finest.

A dangerous path,

Hyping yourself up can be seriously dangerous. Get it wrong and you’ll be cast into the fiery belly of indie hell for eternity. So it’s a treacherous route that The Courteeners’ cocksure motor-mouth Liam Fray has chosen.

A Libertine dreamer,

Fray’s voice nudges close to Pete Doherty’s rolling rasp, while his band mates play with all the jangly excellence of Babyshambles covering The Jam covering The Kinks. It’s stirring stuff.

But the Doherty similarities don’t end there. The expectant atmosphere and sheer excitement is comparable with the explosive fervour which gripped the nation’s indie scene when The Libertines first crawled out of an East London bedsit and into the hearts of Albion’s dreamers.
