Having brought punk to Manchester, been at the forefront of the DIY movement, and penned some of the most enduring pop punk records of the last thirty years, The Buzzcocks have been influential in every way it is possible for a band to be so.

Best known for the classic ‘Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve), Buzzcocks formed in 1976, at first noted for bringing The Sex Pistols to the North of England, they quickly established themselves as a, not only talented, but hugely important band in their own right.

Releasing their debut four track EP ‘Spiral Scratch’ on their own New Hormones label they became one of the first punk groups to establish an independent record label and lay the path for the whole movement.

Combining punk sensibilities and sounds with a knack for writing classic pop singles it was only a year until Pete Shelley and the band signed to United Artists and started recording the essential album Singles Going Steady.

Buzzcocks will be playing 53 Degrees on Sunday 14th February, tickets are on sale now.
